As a history teacher, I realized early on that the achievements of Black women are undervalued and underreported. For many of my students, the first time they hear about Black women leaders throughout history is when they have to take African American History, a mandatory high school course here in Philadelphia. So, in order to bring our history beyond the classroom to your door, I developed this project titled, Black Women Do to shed light on the amazing women leaders of the past. The first stage of the project will feature a children's book and memory/matching game highlighting 13 women. To purchase, click here.
